Recognition from State Board of Education, Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee
Redmond, Wash. – The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has announced that 20 different LWSD schools have been recognized through the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2023-24 school year.
March is Music in Our Schools Month. As we celebrate this observance, the Eastlake High School choir welcomed choirs from Alcott, Blackwell, Mead, Smith, McAuliffe and Carson Elementary.

Students in the Fire and EMS program recently did a special fire safety presentation at Rachel Carson Elementary.
Ellie Peterson spent 20 years as teacher. She is using that experience to write picture books that have a focus on science. Peterson visited the first and second graders of Carson Elementary on May 4.
